KL Fredericks, Principle, BCL Global – International , has transitioned from her career as a Senior/Supervisory International Trade Specialist with the US Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, US & Foreign Commercial Service (USDOC/ITA/USFCS). For 27+ years, Ms. Fredericks assisted small and medium-size US companies with their export endeavors. Appointed by Secretary of Commerce Ron Brownas the Director of the Harlem US Export Assistance Center, she was export representative for the Franchise and Food & Beverage industries,successfully assisting with thousands of sales of US products. KL also counseled US companies on international procurement procedures and opportunities with the Multi-LateralDevelopment Banks, UN and Humanitarian Relief/NGO organizations.
Ms. Fredericks is a NASBITE ‘Certified Global Business Professional’ (CGBP) and recently joined the ranks of CFEs – receiving ‘Certified Franchise Executive’ accreditation from the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives. She served as the DOC liaison to the board ofNEXCO, an international trade education association and has advised the NYDistrict Export Council. She hasr eceived the Commerce Department’s “Bronze Medal Award”, twice, for her work with the Russia/NIS Health Industries Team and for her ‘ImaginAsian’ Hong Kong film industry programs. She was an active member of the Commercial Service’s AME (Africa/Middle East), Global Franchising,Europe and Agri-Business Teams and coordinated/led a successful franchisingt rade mission to the Middle East, as well as staffing many International BuyerProgram (IBP) trade shows in the US and ‘certified’ trade fairs overseas. KL serves as the ‘international resource’ to the local Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program and has counseled many participants in the intricacies of international business and international franchising.
